The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) in Tokyo, together with Asahi Shimbun organised the “Malaysia MM2H Seminar” on 25-26 April 2007 at Yurakucho Asahi Hall, Tokyo. H.E. Dato’ Mohd. Radzi Abdul Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan delivered a Keynote Speech on 25 April 2007. In his speech, H.E. Dato’ Mohd. Radzi stated that out of 8,723 applications for the MM2H) Programme, 513 of them were Japanese. For the period of January-March 2007, 42 applications have been received from Japanese citizens thrusting Japan to the number one spot in terms of applications for MM2H Programme. The application statistics and participation of about 2,000 people at the Seminar prove that MM2H has gained popularity among the Japanese citizens.
