PETALING JAYA: The Tourism Ministry will come up with its own application forms for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme to replace the present forms issued by the Immigration Department that are for social visits. Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Donald Lim said that about 150 licensed agents of the MM2H programme nationwide would be informed about the new ruling at a meeting here on May 8. Lim said the Immigration Department has agreed that his ministry should provide proper forms for the programme. “The forms by the department are not suitable for the purpose, as those are the strictly for social visit passes. Therefore a decision was made that the ministry have proper forms to ensure a smoother process of the programme. “By having our own forms, it will be easier for us to monitor the application process,” he said. He said meetings were held a few times a year with the agents to update them and get feedback on the programme. “We need to iron out issues related to the programme, and also to get their feedback on how improvements can be made,” added Lim. It was reported on March 13 that licensed agents of MM2H programme were not being kept up to date with the changes made in the requirements for the applications. Tropical Resort Lifestyle Sdn Bhd managing director Shotaro Ishihara had claimed that the ministry would make “some kind of change almost every month” to the rules without informing the agents or the public. He had said they would learn of the changes only when they submitted the applications. Source: theStar Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites
