KOTA KINABALU: President of Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen has called on the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry to initiate a Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Sabah website to link Shareda’s website (www.shareda.com) so as to enable potential MM2H applicants to have direct access to information on the property industry in Sabah. She said this website should be multilingual and linked to the national MM2H website portal.

“Potential MM2H applicants can also access to other information such as tourist attractions and standard of living in Sabah and all other necessary information they require,” she said.

Datuk Susan said this when presenting Shareda’s viewpoints on MM2H issue at the Sabah Tourism Consultative Council meeting chaired by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Masidi Manjun.

She reaffirmed that Shareda would work closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment to promote Sabah properties by way of participating in all the tourism promotion trips overseas organised by the Sabah Tourism Board in collaboration with the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board.

“We seek the Ministry’s approval for Sabah Tourism Board to include Shareda in all their tourism promotion trips overseas in future,” remarked Datuk Susan.

At the meeting, the Shareda president extended a special invitation to Datuk Masidi to attend the industry’s property exhibition ‘PROPEX 09’ which will be officially opened by the Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Haji Hajiji Haji Mohd Noor on Oct 3.

She suggested that Sabah tourism should take this opportunity to showcase the state’s attractive destinations for the benefit of potential MM2H participants. The chairman of Sabah Tourism Board Tengku Datuk Zainal Adlin welcomed the idea.

PROPEX ’09 is under the auspices of Shareda with its vice president Wong Ten An as organizing chairman. It will be held from October 2 to 4 at the Sabah Trade Centre here.
