He said it was a budget that would generate greater economic opportunities for the people and investors while stimulating growth in various socio-economic sectors. "It is a budget that takes into account the welfare of the people, namely through poverty eradications programmes. "We are happy and thankful to the Deputy Prime Minister for the various allocations given to Sabah. It shows that the government understands and is responsive to Sabah's needs," he said in a statement here, Tuesday. Musa, who is also State Finance Minister said, allocations for the development and upgrading of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and electricity supply was timely. "The funds provided for such infrastructure projects are much needed in Sabah.The state is still largely made up of rural areas and therefore needs more infrastructure and basic utilities," he said. He also welcomed the announcement on Permanent Residence status given to foreigners who invested US$2 million or more under the "Malaysia My Second Home" programme.
