KUALA LUMPUR: The homestay and Malaysia My Second Home programmes have new target markets -- European countries.

The Tourism Ministry is scouting for more long-haul travellers, particularly from Britain, France and Netherlands, to promote products that are uniquely Malaysia.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, said travellers from these countries were looking for authentic tourism products, not tailor-made packages.

She was speaking after returning from a tourism sales mission to Europe.

On the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H), she said there had been very few takers from the European market.
