KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 (Bernama) -- Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will visit the inner, northern and western parts of China from Thursday in her bid to draw more Chinese tourists to Malaysia.

Ng said she would meet with representatives from China's tourism ministry, the local media, the airlines and several tour agencies to promote and discuss several new tourism packages.

She would focus on three main packages -- "Golden Third Age" (G3A), "Malaysia, My Second Home" and the "Homestay" programmes.

"I will focus on making sure that the same visitors come back to Malaysia," she told reporters after the ministry's monthly gathering, here.

Ng also said that she would discuss with the airlines to get low-priced night flights for the visitors to and from Malaysia.

The "Malaysia, My Second Home" and the "Homestay" programmes would be repackaged, targeting students, she said.

When asked about the number of visitors from China, Ng said she expected one million Chinese tourists to visit Malaysia this year.
